More Hair

Recently when asking around to see what people are interested in reading in my blog I received a response I had never thought to blog about, MORE HAIR.

There are so many different product options out there for people with thinning, fine hair. First and foremost you need to figure out why your hair is thinning. Is it genetics, stress, hormonal, vitamin deficiency, iron deficiency, thyroid, or an illness? Once you have that part figured out it's on to the next step, figuring out which products work best for you.

One of the very best vitamins on the market to help hair growth I have found with my clients is BIOTIN http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biotin. It's a source of vitamin B. Biotin is available in both pill form and also found in some shampoos. There are several other vitamins on the market such as Densi-Recharge by Kerastase http://www.kerastase-usa.com/_en/_us/shop_products/specifique/index-specifique.htm. If simple vitamin supplementation isn't working it may be time to see your Dermatologist. The Dr. can provide both steroid injections to the thinning areas and also provide topical creams if needed.

If the issue is genetics we're fighting an uphill battle. There has been some promising progress with the development of Latisse http://www.latisse.com/?cid=ppc_gg_latisse. Woman are not recommended to use Propecia but it is safe to use Rogaine.

On a less scientific note we can have some fun with extensions to give you the thick hair you want. Here are some of the options when it comes to faux hair, starting on the inexpensive end.

Claire's and similar accessory shops sell extensions on combshttp://www.claires.com/store/goods/Teens/cat310184/Faux-Hair/p1000777/Dark-Blonde-Pony-Tail/?productId=p1000777&size=&color=BRUNETTE&quantity=1

Salley's Beauty Supply sells a variety of brands both synthetic and natural human hair extensions.

http://www.hairuwear.com/ offers higher end extensions including Great Lengths. Great Lengths are by far the best extensions I've worked with. They are Keratin bonds so they don't damage the hair you already have, excellent quality hair and they look natural http://www.greatlengths.net/.

If you have any questions feel free to post them on the blog or contact me at The Capelli Shop http://www.thecapellishop.com/

A lot of times hair loss is due to lack of nutrition in the body. If you have already explored these avenues and consulted a Dr. I'm sorry to say there is not much out there to help with hair loss. In researching this further I did come across a shampoo that is specifically for hair loss

I hope this helps....
