Ok so I have been researching a little bit on what to do if you have extra oily hair. Not saying that I agree with all of these "solutions" but some may be helpful. Discovery Health has a write up "11 Home Remedies for Oily Hair". I strongly disagree with putting dishwasher detergent in your shampoo, especially if you have color on your hair. I do however agree with getting a cleansing shampoo to use once a week. Davines makes a good one called SoLu (this shampoo may also lighten your color if you have a toner or single process). It seems as though cider vinegar is good for your hair in more ways than one, not only to get rid of the oil but also to restore elasticity. One more tip, if you do use conditioner start by applying to your ends first and work your way up to the root and avoid applying on the scalp. Here's the link that may help. Please comment if you find something that really works, or doesn't at all.

The cleansing shampoo really works well! I have been using it every other day with a conditioner, applying at the ends and working my way up without touching the roots. My hair is no longer oil and finally feels healthy. The cleansing shampoo does cause your hair to tangle immediately, so I would recommned using a conditioner with it.
