Lazy Days...

Having one of those days? Don't feel like spending a lot of time on your hair? A pony tail is the perfect solution. Here are some fun and helpful styling tips for this universal style.

- use a good quality brush (boars hair brushes are a good investment)or your fingers to get all the hair going in the the direction you want to wear your ponytail.
- Use an elastic band for your ponytail (avoid rubberbands!)
- Depending on what kind of look you're going for will depend on the product you use. Gel (for a sleeker look), mousse (creates a messy look), or finishing spray (a natural look).

There are so many creative ways to wear a ponytail and it looks good at any age.

To create some volume use a mason pierson brush, backcombing the hair at your crown. Taking 1/2 inch sections, brush the hair down towards your head. Smooth the last section over the backcombed hair (if you use a bobby pin to secure this hair it will help keep the volume when putting in the ponytail). Brush the rest of the hair into your hand and wrap it with your elastic band.

You can use head bands to dress it up a little. Here are some I like...

You can also take a piece of hair from under the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic and secure it with a bobby pin.

If you want a softer look you can curl the hair first. Using the end of a tail comb pull some pieces out around your face, or hairline.

There are so many ways to create this style... high, low, to the side, curly, sleek, voluminous, messy, multiple ponies... be creative with it.
